House Expected To Pass Bills Striking Mandatory Funding For Healthcare Law Programs.

CQ Today (4/29, Ethridge) reported, “The House is expected to pass three healthcare-related bills this week intended to allow Republicans to trumpet their continuing efforts to dismantle last year’s overhaul.” The first two bills “would strike mandatory funding for programs enacted as part of the healthcare law (PL 111-148, PL 111-152),” while the third measure aims to “prohibit the use of federal taxpayer dollars and local government funds in Washington, DC, to pay for abortions.” Notably, the legislation, “expected to be taken up Tuesday and Wednesday, are almost certain to get no traction in the Senate.”
