Technology Companies Working To Land Insurance Exchange Contracts.

In an article titled, “Analysis: Tech world vies for piece of insurance
exchanges,” Reuters (8/12, Selyukh) reports that
technology companies ranging from juggernauts like IBM and Oracle to smaller
firms are working to land government contracts to develop the necessary
infrastructure for the insurance exchanges mandated by 2014 as part of the US’
healthcare reforms. Millions of dollars are at stake for each state.
Development of the infrastructure is currently up to states, although that
could shift to the federal government if too little headway is made over the
next year and a half.
